Instructor Bio

Ian Allard is the Operations Director of Global Infrastructure for Mace Group. Ian specializes in delivering carbon reduction strategies to a variety of clients including Siemen’s Mobility, National Grid, Isavia, and the Manchester Airport Group.

Previously, as an Associate Director, Ian was responsible for creating, implementing, and monitoring best practice so that projects achieve challenging carbon reduction targets. His attention to detail and technical understanding allow him to effectively communicate with a variety of different stakeholders to achieve the desired outcomes.

Immediately prior to joining Mace, Ian was the sole Sustainability Manager for The Royal Parks, developing and implementing energy reduction projects. Prior to this role, Ian spent 2.5 years working on projects across Europe for Canon Europe focused on product life cycle and design to reduce embodied carbon. Ian started his career with SGS, completing life cycle assessments of products and services using SimaPro. With over 13 years’ experience in sustainability management, Ian has been involved in projects that span several different sectors, including electronics, parks, retail and services; and infrastructure.

Ian is a qualified APMPQ and Prince 2 Practitioner demonstrating his ability to lead projects. Ian is also an ISO 14001 external auditor, showing his ability to manage threats and turn them into opportunities. Ian has vast experience managing numerous consultants and contractors across multiple sites and embodies the role as a key agent for change. His collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and pro-active attitude ensures advantageous results for his projects.
